Here’s what other brides have said about Muskoka Goddess – Operation: Buff Bride
When I first started boot camp, I was tired and sore, but most importantly, I couldn’t wait to go back. I couldn’t even remember the last time I actually felt challenged in a workout or built up a sweat and I was excited. Physically I couldn’t even do one regular push-up when I started and had to do push-ups on my knees. Within a month I was seeing my back become more toned and had noticed changes in my hips and thighs – the location where I really wanted to loose an inch or two. A few nights ago I decided to do some regular push-ups to see if I “still had it in me” and was able to do over 20 regular push-ups before I even thought about stopping – my husband was very impressed! Being in shape and working out in a boot camp format is fun and motivating, and although hard, it never felt like a chore.
Although Sandra’s boot camp is a group format, she gives you lots of individual attention and plenty of advice on health and nutrition, along with specific advice on how you can meet your individual goals. The quality of the boot camp experience was better than any of my previous experiences working 1-on-1 with a personal trainer (even my former personal trainer was impressed with the results). Her regular e-mails on heath and nutrition really made me think about what I was putting in my body and has changed how I shop for groceries (although I still cheat and am proud to say it is okay to cheat!). Sandra’s boot camp really motivated me to challenge my body, build strength and become a healthier and more energetic version of myself. On my wedding day, quite a few people commented about how great my back looked in my dress, and I was pleased that my hard worked paid off. When I posted some honeymoon pictures on my Facebook page where I was wearing a bikini, and a friend wrote “Nice Abs…boot camp really paid off”, I said to myself…”yes it did”, I got to be a buff bride on my wedding day, and had a bikini bod for my honeymoon!
When I had mentioned to my friends and colleagues that I was joining a boot camp to get ready for the wedding, they all said “you don’t need to go to boot camp you already look good”. But I have always known that just because you are a healthy body weight and a proportionate body shape, doesn’t mean that you are in shape or living a healthy lifestyle. I have had a gym membership for years, but found that I wasn’t able to challenge myself, and found my workouts un-motivating. I had reached a plateau, was bored of the gym, and knew that working out on my own was not going to give me the “buff bride” look I was going for. I also knew that with the wedding only a few months away and my bank account already bleeding money, 3 days a week 1-on-1 with a person trainer did not fit into my budget. If I was going to make the investment of my time and energy during a really busy time in my life, I wanted results.

I want to thank you so much for all your help in getting me in the best shape that I’ve been in… possibly ever. I am so pleased with what I have accomplished over the last few months, and I have you to thank for it. Not only are you motivating during the bootcamp sessions (that damn whistle!), but most importantly you were there for me outside of the classes. You were always a great source of information when it came to planning my diet, staying focused during stressful times, and keeping on track with everything. It was definitely a challenge, but I know I wouldn’t have gotten the same results without you. I joined your program to introduce something new to my boring old gym routine and to get ready for my wedding, not really having huge expectations because I thought I was pretty fit and that there wasn’t much room for improvement. But one day I looked at myself in the mirror and was shocked to see definition in places that I never dreamed of being able to achieve! I don’t remember ever having calves so defined, not to mention my smokin’ hot arms and shoulders! I have had many people comment on my arms; just wait til they see me in a bikini! Thanks again for all your support.

When I initially started bootcamp classes, I had no idea that I would enjoy it so much that I kept taking it month after month. It’s hard at the beginning, feeling sore but eventually the soreness goes away and it feels like you’re addicted to doing all of the exercises (although there are some which you prefer not to do and some which you really like). The countless cycles of burpies, lunges, leap frogs, crunches, push ups and sit-ups etc. all contributed to giving me definition and muscles where I didn’t think it was ever possible. When I started I had already bought myself a wedding dress that I had fit into, but by after 5 months, I had lost two dress sizes and had to return my dress for two sizes smaller. I also fit into clothes that I hadn’t worn in years. I had no idea how effective bootcamp would be. I also ate healthier and made a conscious effort to get my daily water consumption in.
I felt proud to have the body that I had with the bootcamp workouts and to also be able to wear more shapely fitting clothes. My fiancé at the time commented on how different and more firm my body felt thanks to Sandra and the exercises she made us go through.
Sandra was a wonderful instructor who kept you focused on accomplishing your goals. She was not only your instructor but a friend outside of that, providing you with wisdom and advice not only on bootcamp matters, but with life in general. Each class is never the same as Sandra creates a new set of exercises for each class so it’s never boring but challenging with each class.

How many sessions will be needed to get you looking your very best?
You didn’t get into your current state over nite. You must expect it to take time to reach your ideal body. Depending on how large the gap is from where you now are, to where you wish to end up, will dictate how long it will take to reach your goal. I will give you the tools you require to reach your goal in the shortest time possible.
How much you shed depends on you. I do know this…if you follow the plan in 8 weeks you will be stronger, leaner, smaller, tighter, healthier and feeling better then when you started. You can expect to lose several inches and up to 20lbs.
In order for change to occur, you must be willing to change.
